Biography

Born and raised in Atlantic Beach and comes from a long family legacy of Atlantic Beach residents, Jessica Ring, is now running for City Commissioner District 1312, Seat 5, and hoping to represent the westside of Mayport Road, Dutton Island, and Marshside.

Her family grew up in Royal Palms throughout the sixties and seventies and raised Jessica right here in our town. Today, the public educator and mother of three, alongside her husband, a Jacksonville Firefighter, are raising their own family in Atlantic Beach, as they continue the legacy of locals in this beautiful beach town.

Her campaign platform is simple: love where you live, be part of the solution, and invest in our community.

Jessica started her teaching career in the fall of 2007 and decided to go back to school seeking a master’s degree in Public Administration and Government Leadership from University of North Florida of which she graduated from in 2010. Jessica has been serving as the Chairperson of the Atlantic Beach Mayor’s Council on Health and Well-Being this year, which was formed to support the city’s vision for the future and the commission’s quality of life initiative. With Mayor Glasser and ten other city council members, Jessica has delved into topics that are crucial to our community: walkability in Atlantic Beach, senior programming, vulnerable populations, youth, and more. As a public educator, parent, and resident, she has invested a good deal into our community and would like to continue to do so as City Commissioner.
